The Lotus posture
Lotus Posture is a famous yoga seat (padmasana) place the right foot on the left upper thigh and than the left foot on the right upper thigh. The hands rest on the knees so that the palms either cover the knee caps or are directed up words wile the index fingers touch the middle portion of the thumbs. The lotus posture seat comes easiest to children and young persons. In advanced age one can learn it only after some practice, if you don’t have successes in placing both the feet on the thighs simultaneously than do so with only one foot, one after the other while the other leg remains stretched out on the floor.
In every case the lotus posture should be practiced only so long as it does not bring about cramps and obstruction of the circulation of blood.
